Ravenna and back

Chea and I got a quick 26 miles in yesterday on the Musketawa trail. Started off with me sucking wind and struggling will every pedal stroke. Couldn't figure out why i was so tired and hurt but pushed throught the pain. Got to Ravenna and decided to break away from the usual trail and found a semi decent hill. Once we got back on the trail things started feeling better for me and the pace picked up. by the end of the ride things were feeling good and i ended up topping out the final sprint at 29mph. Great ride as always. Can't wait for the next one cause keep in mind, I'm only going to the top of the hill.

Muskegon and Back

Started the fall season off with an excellent ride with Chris and a new rider Craig. We made the fifty mile trek from Marne to Muskegon and back and did it with style and speed. The whole ride felt great and all of us finished strong. By the numbers we were 17mph average and 2hrs 53mins. We also were blessed with nearly perfect riding weather minus the two minutes that it downpoured leaving our chamios and our shoes soaked through the remainder of the ride. All in all though, it was a great ride. Looking forward to doing that one again. Although really, i'm only goin to the top of the hill.

Little Glen and a Sleeping Bear

Dad and I rode up to Sleeping Bear Dunes and around Little Glen Lake yesterday from the Cathrine. It was a perfect day for a ride. The sun was shining but the air was cool. The views from the Empire bluffs were incredible and the lakes we rode by were perfectly clear. Had a fairly brisk pace for the distance we traveled but took several stops on the way back for coffee and icecream. All in all we managed 60 miles at an 18 mph clip. Best part of the ride had to be Wilco Road both down and back up. It was a wicked fast decent and later in the ride, a punishing climb. Really though, I'm only goin to the top of the hill.

Musketawa Trail

Rode up past Ravenna and back yesterday with Chea and proceeded to get my tail whipped my a man who claims to be suffering from a resperatory infection. I just wish he wasn't a liar. A solid 30 mile ride though which felt really good even though i got smoked. Heading up to Frankfort this weekend so there should be some good hilly rides to write about when i get back. As Tom Waits would say, "i'm only going to the top of the hill."
